Sarah Hopkins gained an MA in Fine Art with Distinction at Swansea Institute in 2003. She has worked in South Wales for much of her career as a printmaker, although her travels across Europe and further afield has influenced her work.

this documents current and ongoing projects.

here and there

created between 2005 and 2006 this collection represents a series of physical journeys featuring repetitious and transient experiences. The work relates to her home environment and her travels to Tuscany and Venice.

gesture

studies were extended to human pattern and crowd behaviour within the football ground environment, which was the main focus for 2003.

especially when the october wind

twelve printmakers from Swansea Print Workshop collaborated to produce a series of prints in response to Dylan Thomas’s poem.

urban environment

created between 2000 and 2002, the work is a response to issues concerning society and the urban environment.

pattern and repetition

with an emphasis on repetitive pattern this work is based on the urban landscape of South Wales.  This is a selection of artwork created before 2000.
