Professional Experience
Sarah Hopkins took a one year sabbatical from her teaching at Gorseinon College, Swansea to Manage the Festival of Muslim Cultures Print Project at Swansea Print Workshop. The post comprised of a rich programme of activities based on Image, Text and Symbolism in Islamic Art. She curated the international touring exhibition, Contemporary Pakistani Printmakers, organised artist in residence opportunities for two printmakers from Pakistan and coordinated an education programme for communities in South Wales. She also jointly curated Contemporary Welsh Printmakers with Swansea Print Workshop Studio Manager, Sameera Khan.
Most recently she was the Award Artist for the Josef Herman Foundation in 2008 and worked with primary school children across four counties in South Wales.
A lecturer and Assistant Learning Area Manager for Creative Arts at Gower College, Swansea, she also delivers a range of workshops and coordinates community projects, which have included the Gesture Project and Printmaking Residency.
